Summer 2018 Hardscaping Outdoor Areas
It’s finally summer, and it’s time to take advantage of the beautiful weather! That could be mean swimming, hiking, biking, fishing, or any other number of activities. However, when you don’t want to leave the house and would just like to spend a relaxing weekend at home, hardscaping outdoor areas can be a great option for summer fun.
What is Hardscaping?
Outdoor living areas sound great, but what exactly is hardscaping? This might be a question that you’re asking yourself. Hardscaping is just the opposite of landscaping. While landscaping may involve planting trees or shrubs or creating a garden space, hardscaping involves stone, pavers, and the like to create pathways, driveways, retaining walls, patios, and more. Hardscaping can be a great way to incorporate beautiful design and style into your backyard without plants and flowers that you will need to take care of throughout the year. While you may have some upkeep with hardscaping, like washing the stones off or minor repairs from regular wear and tear, in most cases there will be less than taking care of landscaping.
Outdoor Areas for Summer 2018
If you’re looking for wonderful outdoor areas for summer 2018, Heartwoods Landscaping Inc. can help you create a beautiful patio, fire pit area, or water feature. Each one can be completely customized to what you’re interested in and what you would like in your backyard. We can help you make decisions about how to put everything in its place so it looks beautiful and well-balanced. However, we will take all of your ideas, wants, and needs into account and create a custom design based off of this. We also have pre-designed options that you can choose from that will make the job easier and less stressful for you.
A patio can be a great place to relax with friends and have a few drinks. Rather than staying inside when the weather is beautiful, take advantage of your backyard! It’s time to make the investment in a patio area through Heartwoods Landscaping Inc. We will use hardscaping to create a beautiful stone patio area that will keep you out of the grass (and away from the direct path of bugs) and with all the amenities you may want. We can even incorporate a fire pit and sitting wall into the design. This is a great idea not only for the kids to roast marshmallows and hot dogs, but a nice place to sit when the night becomes cooler but it’s still too nice to go inside quite yet.
A water feature is also a wonderful option for an outdoor area to enjoy. Not only will you get the benefits of a beautiful natural landscape, but it can add value to your property through such an interesting and peaceful feature. You could try a simple stone waterfall or something more complex like a small pond with greenery and a stone patio surround. This would be a nice option for a relaxing outdoor dinner or party with the sound of running water in the background and the tranquility of such a pond. Surrounding the water feature, we can install retaining walls and a patio and pathway to accent the water feature. From big to small, we will work with you to accommodate what you’re after while still keeping in mind the dimensions of your backyard and the style of your home and neighborhood. Everything should mesh and look great as a whole, and we can make it happen.
How are Stone Pavers Installed?
Will this process tear up my yard? What’s the process like? All of these are great questions, and they will depend on your specific situation and what you’re looking for. Whether you want a water feature, a patio, or a pathway, what the install process entails and how long it will take will vary. However, in general, the process to install stone pavers is fairly straightforward.
The ground will be dug out shallowly to make room for the pavers and make sure that they will be stable in the ground and that no weeds will come through. The soil will then be compacted so that there are no issues with settling over time. Gravel that has been crushed will be added and smoothed/leveled, and a layer of builder’s sand will be added as well. Pavers are then installed and more builder’s sand will be spread on top of that. The design will be created before installation and shown to you for approval. The design will then be followed and your pavers will be installed. The process can differ depending on what you’re looking for with hardscaping, but generally this will be the process for hardscaping.
